This drill is very weak, fully charged the 7.2v battery will not set a screw into wood without a large pilot hole. The battery life is super short and needed constant recharging and finally quit holding a charge after about 6 months. I would stay away from this drill, even though priced well, it's not worth the frustration. I would suggest at least a 12v and not a Ryobi. I have a B&D Firestorm that is still going after 3+ years the charger sucks but you can upgrade to the one hour pod for a resonable price.

Battery sucks, never fully charges after having only 1 year using. Even when fully charged, it has no power. I would stay away from this particular Ryobi drill.

My experience with the Ryobi 7.2v drill is that it is very good. It is not high powered, being only 7.2v but it gets the job done on small jobs.

It's a high quality drill, everything is well made, from the solid plastic to the bits. I've never had a problem with it making hand made cabinet and shelving. I use it for drilling softer wood, plaster board and as an all purpose driver. For harder wood I use a corded drill, but I hardly ever need that because most of my jobs are home improvement.

As for quality and longevity, I've had my Ryobi for more than 6 years and it still looks almost brand new because the plastic is such high quality. And I'm still on my first battery. The trick with the battery is that you need to charge it at least 12 hours, I usually charge it for 16. If you charge it for less, then the battery will drain quickly.

I've had no problem with this brand or this drill and I highly recommend it.
