Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Purchased on 10 June 2009, $49.95 w/Super-saver shipping from Amazon.com. Product arrived quickly, and in perfect condition. I chose the P103 over the P104 because it is smaller, lighter and less expensive. It has performed like a champ: 2-3 hours of heavy, continuous use. Therefore I'm glad I didn't have to spend an additional $35-$40 for the P104. The P104 likely holds a charge much longer but the P103 has lasted long enough to complete most household projects I've thrown at it. Besides, it charges in less than an hour so a short coffee break and a bite to eat and the P103 is ready to go.
Update 30 Dec. 2009: In the last two weeks, during two recharge attempts, the recharging unit flashed both red and green indicators at the same time indicating that my P103 was defective. I removed the battery for a short period during the first attempt, replaced it, and it finished charging with no problem. The second time, I had to remove and replace it twice before it finally took a...Read more

I have always held a deep seated hatred for NiCad! The new LI-ON batts are a dream come true. Lighter, longer lasting and more powerful. My old cordless tools perform better than they did when brand new with NiCad. I have various tools by Dewalt, Milwaukee, Rigid, Ryobi and they all are better with LITHIUM!!!
I have had these RYBOI batteries for over a year of steady use and have not had any problems.
WARNING -
The old NiCad chargers will NOT properly charge the new LITH batteries. It says so in the product documents and on the box. It was the first question I asked myself before making my purchase. On the bright side, my old Ryobi tools are now like NEW and that saved me a ton of cash and the LITH batteries are a dream!!!!!!!!! So, best to buy a combo package and save yourself money.
PS - Check out INTERSTATE batteries. Interstate is a well known, long time, reputable battery company. They make generic replacements and chargers that cost much...Read more

After buying this 18v Ryobi Lithium battery through Amazon and retailer Minng 88, and paying 60$ plus, it stopped working after less than five months of light use. It gives a 'defective' signal when recharging. Because it was past 30 days, since purchase, I cannot return it or exchange it for a working battery. It means if you get a defective product from Minng 88, it has to fail within 30 days. If it stops working on the 31st day. you are out of luck. This is very unsatisfactory customer service.
When I had a similar experience with a defective Rigid 18v Lithium battery, bought at the same time through Amazon supplier, Damlow, the response was quite different. Damlow said to return the defective battery for a replacement despite being well past 30 days since purchase. That is great customer service and makes me a happy client. Damlow has gained a future customer. I will never buy from Minng 88 again. and advise all to do the same.
