Great product (I purchased the full retail item though),

I purchased this drill from Home Depot (Home Depot actually owns RIDGID) for my dad as a Christmas gift. It came with a charger, 2 batteries, two sided driver bit, and carrying bag. I originally wanted to get him a DeWalt, but the build quality on this drill is excellent and overall it is a great drill. I think the DeWalt DC720 might be a little better overall but it uses the old battery technology. The thing that sold me most is the Lifetime Service Agreement you get with this RIDGID product if you are the original owner and register the product within 90 days of purchase. This says it all: "The Lifetime Service Agreement provides the original owner of qualifying RIDGID® Brand tools a lifetime of free replacement batteries, free service and free replacement parts subject to the limitations set forth below."

I am a new homeowner and you just gotta have a good drill for all the odd jobs that come with a home. I have had other drills in the past that were disappointing. Therefore I was in search of a higher end drill. Ridgid wasnt on my short list & I don't know if this is necessarily a high end drill but I was sold on the lithium ion technology, & the lifetime warranty that covers the battery. I have not been let down. Don't let its smaller size fool you this drill packs a punch and has tackled everything I have thrown at it with ease. The battery holds a charge well and when dead charges quickly. I would not hesitate to recommend this drill.
Update: It has been about 2 yeas with the drill and I am still pleased. One important thing to note is to be sure you completely register the drill when you purchase it so that you are covered by the lifetime warranty. I was sure to do this and it saved my butt when the charger broke (It fell off of my workbench) and it was replaced without...Read more

Warning to all. Only Home Depot is an authorized reseller for Ridgid. You will not be able to get the lifetime warranty if you buy this here.
