I have an older Makita 7.2-volt drill-driver I prefer for its compact size and light weight. Just the thing for working overhead. A local big-box store used to carry these batteries for $40, and they only seemed to last a year or so. Now that that store no longer carries these batteries, I have been replacing my OM batteries with these batteries as my OM batteries wear out. Not only are they cheaper, but they last longer - the first one I bought is still going strong.

The first cordless drill I ever bought was a 7.2 volt Makita. It has long since been replaced but the cordless vacuum cleaner that came with it is the best of its type I have ever owned. Ni-Cad batteries don't last forever and this replacement battery works perfectly and has extended the useful life of my prized vacuum cleaner.
