This is one tough little hammer drill. Came with 2 RED Lithium batteries and they do fine. I drill alot of 3/16" for tapcons overhead up in the rafters (comercial Electrician) This drill has the power combined with the size to get anywhere I've needed to get to. I've got an XC battery that I use alot but it adds to the size of the drill. The Red Lithiums have the power to get the job done and don't add to the size. The drill took a spill off a ten foot ladder but I picked it up and kept on going. I've drilled 1/4" holes through 1/8th inch metal plate and it did just fine. over all a great little drill if you keep it's size and power in mind

Bought this Milwaukee 12 volt drill/driver as my old DeWalt 12 volt drill/driver batteries (2) would no longer take a charge after 16 years. I reviewed all 12 volt drill driver brands using user reviews on the net and this one shown above the rest by a wide margin. I knew I wanted lithium ion batteries (2), the charger and case, forward/reverse, two-speed, etc. I own other Milwaukee tools, (120V Sawzall), 120V hammer drill, 12" compound mitre saw, saber saw, etc.) and have found them to be reliable, good performers and comfortable to use. I have been renovating my own homes for over 40 years (six of them)and have been helping friends with theirs over that same time frame. I am careful with power tools while using them and I maintain them. I learned a long time ago not to lend them out as that has been the only time they have ever gotten damaged. I do all my own carpentry, electrical, plumbing, tile, etc. work and, now that I am "retired", I tend to work 6-7 hours a day, six days...Read more

I have used a lot of cordless drills and my number one complaint is that they just don't have the power like a corded drill has, well this one has the power.

I am a contractor doing wireless and I am working over my head most of the day, and drilling into concrete, with the lithium battery, and the hammer capability, I was able to work for about 5 hours of on and off use, and I still had a half a battery charge in one of the two batteries. because it has lithium batteries it gives a strong output right to the end, it will then just stop as to not over drain the battery, this is a good safety feature to protect the battery.

The added light (it is also an LED light) in the front is a big help when you are working in lower light conditions, but I think the best part is the LED battery indicator on the side which I have found to be quite accurate (that's how I know I was only half way through the battery)

The only thing that I would want extra on it would...Read more
