I purchased this drill after buying the Makita BTD142HW Li-Ion impact driver kit which included the charger and two batteries. This drill is much lighter and more compact than my Craftsman 19.2V bruisers (those things just won't die). The decision to upgrade to a smaller drill was made after driving over 300 2.5" screws at eye level while installing balusters. This is a fantastic tool: compact, sturdy, well balanced, comfortable (the grip tapers toward the battery, compare this to a Bosch). The factory reconditioned tool was brand new, not a scratch or blemish. The clutch, chuck and speed control switch all worked perfectly. The compact Li-Ion battery is light and has plenty of juice, recharging only takes 15 minutes so you'll never be able to "lap" your battery charger (a common occurance with the old Craftsman on hot summer days).
