These batteries last me for a good long while. They're not lithium ion, obviously, so you don't want to charge them up without first discharging them fully. If you don't have but one battery for your hitachi drill, for example, you're going to want to buy two so you can alternate batteries. I bought my drill kit when they were doing a send-coupon-in-for-free-battery promotion, so those batteries lasted me quite a few years of moderate usage.

If you are an intense DIY'er, I would put the money towards a lithium-ion drill and extra batteries instead. NiCad just isn't going to cut it for anything besides occasional use/ projects, but in the context that they are supposed to be used, I think these batteries perform better than many other regular-batteries I've used. They don't discharge real quick while you leave them sitting around either, so that's pretty nice. While a little pricey, this has been a good replacement battery for my drill/driver. It was still cheaper than replacing a unit that was working well, just needed more electrons...

I ordered four batteries for this model. Have only used two of them. The batteries seem to be refurbished items, or at least the quality are very poor. Two of the four batteries were so weak and did not last very long at all after THE FIRST TIME charge.
