I have had this tool for several years now, and what a job it can do! It can drive small holes in concrete with ease while in the hammer mode, which is easily engaged with a push of a button on the side and disengaged just as easily with a push from the other side. The fwd/rev control is next to the trigger so you can just flick your finger to change directions, not requiring assistance from your other hand at all. The variable speed control is fantastic in either high or low settings. Due to the electronic feedback system, you can feel the high torque being applied to the work throughout the speed range. Thank goodness Hitachi did not put a keyless chuck on this tool which can loosen easily in the hammer mode. The keyed chuck keeps the bit tight, and the key stores conveniently and snugly in the drill body.
