Hitachi’s DS18DFL 18-volt lithium-ion drill kit features a 1.5Ah lithium-ion battery that can be charged and recharged up to 1,500 times. This battery makes the overall weight of the drill significantly lighter than other models (over 40 percent), and it is uniquely interchangeable with other Hitachi drills for even more flexibility and value.
The two-piece magnet motor delivers 374 inch/pounds of torque to power through even the toughest jobs with ease. The DS18DFL comes with two 1.5Ah batteries that last approximately three times longer than NiMH or NiCD batteries, meaning you don’t have to replace the batteries as often--which will save you money. Hitachi’s lithium-ion batteries maintain a steady charge from the moment the trigger is pulled until it is time to recharge. For the full duration of the charge, you'll enjoy maximum performance.
The 2-speed transmission is controlled by a one-touch speed shift knob that lets you select between 0-400 or 0-1,200 rpm. The DS18DFL is one of the most compact and lightweight cordless drills in its class, measuring just over 8-1/2 inches and weighing only 3.7 pounds. The new battery technology reduces the weight by approximately a pound, lessening user fatigue and improving maneuverability in tight or overhead applications.
The 1/2-inch keyless chuck allows for quick and easy bit changes and a 22-stage clutch gives you control for high-torque and precision-driving applications. This model features Hitachi’s patented five-position belt hook with an integrated bit holder for added convenience. The new aggressive, ergonomic design--coupled with a non-slip rubber grip--provides more control, comfort and safety.
The unique charger from Hitachi will charge lithium ion batteries from 7.2 volts through 18 volts in just 30 minutes. The universal charger's advanced proprietary technology provides Hitachi lithium ion batteries with overload and discharge protection to prevent overheating and power loss.
