This adapter allows an extension to be connected to an SDS Max drill bit. I have used this to drill holes 5' deep using a 3' drill bit. It works well, just wish it was cheaper. (the extensions will not work without this adapter)

I had to drill 6 1 1/2" holes that were 4' deep. I bought this with the 4' extension and had very little trouble. One word of advice is to keep the hole cleaned out or it can get stuck but with some wire and a water hose you can get it out.
