as a professional carpenter, custom furniture builder, and designer, this is the worst power tool i have ever bought. after having one makita 18v drill literally catch on fire, and another strip the gearbox while drilling a 3/8" hole in pine, i decided to upgrade to this ridgid with more torque and the hammerdrill function. it does have a lot more torque, and the hammerdrill works well, but after 2 months, one port one the charger stopped working. a few days later, the trigger began to stick in the on position. a week or so later, the drill/battery connection went bad, and now requires a hard slap now and then when the drill quits working. last, the charger is extremely sensitive to hot or cold batteries, and takes a LONG time to cool/heat batteries that are only a few degrees to either side of room temperature, usually doubling (or more) the stated charge time. i called ridgid to get them to fix or replace the defective charger and the sticky trigger, and was told that i had to...Read more

I like reconditioned tools, and this one works great.I got this drill to help with a remodel, and it's been working great plenty of power and quick recharging batteries. The only thing that is a drawback is that it's a little heavy for extended use.

I have been using power hand tools for many many years and Ridgid has produced an above average battery powered tool. It will perform right along with the best and the warranty will cover many problems, just be sure and register product with Ridgid. My only concern is the battery. I would like the battery to last much longer but it comes with 2 batteries and a quick charger. Could be better but not bad at all.
