Great tools... the best and most powerful cordless tools I have used. After using the Amazon Credit card and getting the reduction in price, the cost was the best I have been able to find. Was shipped in good order and time and was exactly what I was looking for.

Dewalt 18V cordless Hammer Drill and Circular Saw,

This review is from: DEWALT DC988SA 18-Volt Ni-Cad Cordless 2-Tool Combo Kit (Tools & Home Improvement)
I purchased this set when I needed a hammer drill for a lot of brick and concrete drilling. I already own the DeWalt 18V 1/2" impact wrench and it has been superb since I got it. It will remove any wheel bolt with ease, something my air impact wrench often couldn't do.
I have had no problems with the hammer drill and it has gotten substantial hard use preparing to open a tavern in an old building with 12" thick brick and concrete walls. Much better than an older wired hammer drill I own.
Battery life has been very good as well and having a number of batteries keeps things moving all day.
I guess I am a DeWalt fan in that I also own DeWalt cordless impact wrench, reciprocating saw, saber saw, flashlight, cutoff tool and grinder

Best Deal Around,

This combo is an excellent deal. I did tons of research and found that this was the best combo for my budget and requirements. I didn't want the four-piece, not the one with the trombone, trumpet, bass, and drummer, kit because if I am doing demo I will probably want a corded reciprocating saw for the added power and the light looks great but I am not willing to pay the premium for it.
The circular saw is definitely not a wormdrive saw but its cordless, easy to adjust, and makes smooth cuts through 2x.
The drill is bomber but the gear change mechanism is shaky due to a loose "clutch" - not the smoothest changes sometimes requiring an advancement of the drill to make the "shift". I don't know if this will affect the lifespan of the drill but my gut says it won't. And like Bush I always go with my gut, it's a nerve-ending thing.
All in all the tools will run as long as the batteries are charged. Fact: Current battery technology limits battery life...Read more
