I've had this drill for a few years now and have used it extensively in heavy duty applications. It provides all the power of the larger plug-in drills I've used, and I've never been able to find a job difficult enough to even slow it down.
The lithium ion battery is very powerful, light for it's size, and lasts forever, even after years of use. It comes with two batteries and charges quickly, so you will never run out of juice during a job. By the time the battery you're using runs out - even if you're using it constantly - the new battery will be recharged.
Technology has finally brought us a cordless that is better than corded drills in every way.
I have not used it extensively as a hammerdrill, but when I have, it has performed well.
This is far and away my favorite tool, and i have a feeling i'll be passing it down to a grandchild.

Compared to my old 18-volt drill from another reputable company, this DeWalt 28-volt heavy-duty hammer drill is like comparing a small 4-cylinder pickup to an H1 Humvee.
It is well designed and fairly light plus the batteries recharge a lot faster than the Ni-Cad ones which I had been using. The other great benefit is that if left unused for a few days the batteries do not discharge.
While this is drill is more than I actually need as a homeowner, I would not hesitate recommending it if you want the best.
