One of Delta’s new ShopMaster line, this drill driver’s packing power with everyday affordability. The keyless chuck makes but changes quick and easy, and a 20-position adjustable clutch lets you match torque with the job at hand, each specific application, and avoid screw stripping. An ergonomically designed rubber grip absorbs shock and feels great in hand, and screwdriver bit clips on each side of the tool are a nice touch, too. There’s a built-in bubble level for extra accuracy, though we found it a little hard to read. The extended run-time batteries charge up again in just an hour. The ShopMaster line is really intended for the do-it-yourselfer and hobby woodworker, and this model is perfect for both. Those with smaller hands will like this drill because the grip isn’t too big and, most of all, the batteries are easy-on, easy-off.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste

It gets used a couple of times a month and then for a couple of hours at a time (if the battery lasts).
I own two of these cordless drills. One came free from Delta with purchase of other stuff. It was worth what I paid. The other one I bought new when buying a second drill with two batteries was less expensive than buying two replacement batteries. I also got two batteries from Delta/Porter Cable as warranty replacements. The drills are typical size and weight for a 12 volt drill. It comes in a carry case which some folks find useful while others would discard it. Fit and finish is good. Power or torque seems very low. Even with freshly charged batteries I can easily hold the chuck and prevent the drill from turning in high range. I have to get a really good grip in low range. If the batteries are anything but freshly charged, stopping the unit by hand is easy in either speed...Read more |
