This is the toughest drill I have ever used. The battery is lithium. It is the longest lasting battery I have ever used. In fact, I have never had the battery go dead on the job yet. I have used this type of drill almost daily for 2 years. The only problem sometimes is its weight. Screwing above shoulders gets tiring after a short while. But the drill / driver is a true work horse.
