This review is from: Bosch 1191VSRK 120-Volt 1/2-Inch Single-Speed Hammer Drill (Tools & Home Improvement)
Being a Hitachi fan I was really dissapointed after a really bad experience with the China-Made Hitachi (FDV16VB2) that caught fire right out of the box!(believe it or not!)
I looked around for another reliable light-medium duty hammer drill for typical home usage.
And I am glad to have made this choice. With this beast, I was able to quickly raise the walls of my tool-shed by anchoring the red head screws into the concrete.
Pros:
* Rated for 5/8" for concrete compared to others which are 1/2" (or 4/8":) ).
* Also My drill didn't heat up at all even after 8-10 hours of hammer duty! also
* Did not end up burning any of the (bosch) hammer bits
Cons:
* The Grip could've been more ergonomic especially for people with large hands like mine.(Porter is fine on that front)
* The Auxillary handle could've been metallic one like in porter cable/Dewalt hammer-drills.
The Amp rating and the BPM is better than the other...Read more

Picked this up yesterday after being aggravated at my cordless Milwaukee hammer drill that was taking 4 or 5 minutes to drill a 3/16" x 1.5" hole in brick. Compared to my 18V Ni-cad cordless, this Bosch is great. It chewed through holes in about 15 or 20 seconds. The build quality seems pretty good. I think the depth gauge is pretty cheap. It's plastic. I think they should have added a dollar or two to the price and made the gauge out of aluminum. The handle attached solidly and I had no problems with it or with bit slippage, as others have mentioned. I chose this drill over a similar Dewalt because of both the reputation and my previous experience with Bosch tools. The Bosch also comes with a case, whereas the DeWalt did not. I'll see how this drill holds up and will report back with any problems.
Good but,

I have used this drill in stucco, wood, and a couple of times in concrete. It performs and handles well but the trigger has stuck most of the way depressed on me a couple of times. When I am careful to depress the trigger without any lateral pressure it hasn't happened. That isn't to say that when it did stick that I was somehow pushing the trigger sideways more than someone might in the usual course of work.
When I got around to using the drill and realized the problem it was past the Amazon return period. If I were smarter and had more time on my hands then I would have contacted Bosch for warranty work.
I am a Bosch fan so I have a tough time giving this two stars but then a stuck power button should probably warrant 1 star. I hope other Bosch drills aren't similarly defective. If it weren't for the power button issue I would give it 5 stars for the performance and options at this price point.
